ED152CF: A true imaging workhorse

With true diffraction limited optics and a far-reaching 152mm aperture, the ED152 Air-Spaced Triplet in Carbon Fiber offers limitless possibilities for a lifetime of astronomical exploration.

Designed to deliver crystal clear imagery with true color and rich contrast, the ED152CF is an ideal optical instrument to capture the universe’s breathtaking sights. Through this instrument, deep sky objects can appear as if etched in crystal. Some have described the views as “three-dimensional” against a very dark sky because of the telescope’s unobstructed, high contrast optical system. Features like the filamentary structures of nebulae are rendered with splendid detail, giving one the impression they are looking through a much larger aperture telescope.

Some of the standout features of the ED152CF include:

HOYA FCD1 ED Glass:

The ED152CF combines genuine HOYA FCD1 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and proprietary EMD enhanced multi-layer coatings on all optical surfaces to generate high-contrast images with crisp definition. This combination also allows those seeking to push magnification based on their choices of eyepieces or focal extenders to do so without sacrificing clarity.

Apochromatic Design:

To provide the truest views of the cosmos, the ED152CF has an air-spaced triplet optical design that virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations.

152mm Aperture:

With its 152mm aperture, this telescope drinks in light to reach further into deep sky and produce brilliant images of elusive celestial sights as well as bright favorites.

Carbon Fiber OTA:

The carbon fiber optical tube assembly of the ED152CF greatly reduces the weight of this impressive telescope to a manageable 20.5 pounds – making it a perfect match for more portable equatorial mounts such as the precision Explore Scientific / Losmandy G11 with PMC-Eight. The material also eliminates focus change attributed to shrinking or expansion caused by temperature fluctuations.

Three-Point Collimation Cell

To guarantee precision performance, the ED152CF refractor includes a three-point collimation cell that allows for pinpoint adjustments of the objective lens.
