  This telescope has an air-spaced triplet optical design that virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations and generates brilliant high-contrast images by combining genuine HOYA extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and proprietary EMD enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings on all optical surfaces.

  Although it is a standout telescope on its own, the 80mm also is compact enough to mount on a larger telescope, which can add versatility to your astrophotography experience by separating the guiding and imaging duties.

  A standout in our FirstLight line, this 114mm Newtonian has impressive light-gathering capability to provide excellent views of planets and bright deep sky objects. 

  It has a fast focal ratio (f/4.3) that shortens exposure times for deep sky photography and comes with a German equatorial mount that is designed to smoothly track celestial objects as they journey across the sky. It has two flexible shafts for precise guiding and a counterweight (2 ½ lbs) that provides necessary balance. 

  It comes with a full size tripod, a 25mm Plössl eyepiece, a red dot viewfinder and an adapter that helps observers use their smart device to capture and share images.
